Learn about the Digital Democracy The Hague event and how INNOVADE participated.

On 23-24 September 2025, INNOVADE held its second Living Lab, Envisioning Digital Democracy, in Paderborn, Germany. The two-day event brought together around 40 participants, including project partners, external experts, civic tech practitioners, and engaged citizens.

An extensive study examines the foundations of digital democracy and how digital technologies can shield democratic institutions but also expose them to new risks.

As AI regulations continue to evolve, INNOVADE must remain adaptable to ensure compliance with new legal requirements. However, the AI Act also presents an opportunity to strengthen public trust in digital democracy by providing clear guidelines for responsible AI use.

Just two weeks ago, the INNOVADE team gathered in Brussels for a two-day kick-off meeting, marking the start of an important three-year journey towards enhancing digital democracy in Europe.
